Electronic Educational Resources
Residents have free on-line access to the many resources of the University of Iowa Hardin Library for the Health Sciences. This includes electronic access to many general medicine and specialty medicine textbooks, full-text access to a large number of national and international medical journals, and access to an impressive number of valuable evidence-based medicine (EBM) resources. Available EBM resources include: ACP PIER, Clinical Evidence, the Cochrane Library, DynaMed, Essential Evidence Plus, MD Consult, PubMed, and the TRIP Database. There is also access to a variety of databases that can be downloaded free to PDA and smart phone devices for point-of-care use.
